Contribution of leg length, height and weight to 40 meter short distance running in class vii students at mtsn 8 banjar, astambul district

The researcher aims to determine the extent of the contributions of leg length, height, and weight to the performance of short-distance running (40 meters) students class VII at MTSN 8 Banjar, kecamatan Astambul. The research methodology used is quantitative. The design employed in this study is a double correlational design, where there are three independent variables (leg length [X1], height [X2], and weight [X3]) and one dependent variable, which is short-distance running (Y). Based on the calculation of test data for the four variables, leg length, height, weight, and short-distance running, the calculated correlation coefficient (r) is found to be 1.98. This result is then compared to the tabular value (rtab) at a significance level (α) of 0.05% with degrees of freedom (df) N-1 (39), which is 2.84. Therefore, with r (1.98) < rtab (2.84), it can be concluded that the research hypothesis or alternative hypothesis (H1) is rejected, and the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted. In other words, the proposed research hypothesis in this study is proven to be not significant, indicating that there is no significant influence of leg length, height, and weight on short-distance running (40 meters).Based on the data analysis and discussion in the previous chapter, the following conclusions can be drawn:1. Leg length contributes 2.94% to the speed of short-distance running (40 meters).2. Height contributes 0.22% to the speed of short-distance running (40 meters).3. Weight contributes 0.02% to the speed of short-distance running (40 meters).In conclusion, it can be inferred that there is no significant contribution of leg length, height, and weight to the short-distance running (40 meters) performance of 7th-grade students at MTSN 8 Banjar, Astambul District.
